Why a quote rather than a published rate?
No two sworn translations require the same work. A one-page birth certificate in English has nothing in common with a ten-page judgment in Arabic due in court the next day. A “from” rate would give you a false idea of the real price.
We prefer to look at your document and give you a firm price within 5 minutes, 7 days a week. You know exactly what you will pay before you order, including legalisation if you need it.
The six factors that determine the price
Length
The number of pages or words to translate. A civil status certificate often fits on one page; a judgment or articles of association run longer.
Language combination
Common languages (English, Dutch, Spanish, Italian…) cost less than rare languages, for which there are few sworn translators.
Deadline
Our usual deadline is 24 hours for a standard document. Same-day delivery is possible depending on the language and may affect the price.
Legibility
A handwritten, hard-to-read or heavily stamped document requires more work than a typed one.
Legalisation or apostille
For use abroad, a legalisation or an apostille is added to the translation. We handle the procedures and include them in the quote.
Copies and delivery
The translation is delivered as an electronically signed PDF. A paper copy sent by post can be added if the authority requires it.
What your quote includes
- Translation by a sworn translator listed in the national register of the FPS Justice.
- The sworn translator’s electronic signature, which makes the translation valid in Belgium without any further step.
- Proofreading of the translation before delivery.
- Legalisation or apostille, if your document is to be used abroad: we handle the procedures with the FPS Foreign Affairs.
- Delivery by email, and by post if necessary.
How to reduce the price of your sworn translation
- Check whether a translation is really necessary. For certain public documents issued in another European Union country (birth, marriage, criminal record…), a multilingual standard form can replace the translation (EU Regulation 2016/1191).
- Only translate the pages requested by the authority asking for them.
- Plan ahead: a normal deadline gives you more options than a same-day request.
- Group your documents: one quote for your whole procedure (birth certificate, diploma, criminal record…).
- Send a clear scan: your quote will be faster and more accurate.

Frequently asked questions about the price of a sworn translation
How much does a sworn translation cost in Belgium?
The price depends on the number of pages, the language combination, the deadline and any legalisation. Send us your document: we give you a fixed price within 5 minutes, before you order.
Why not publish a price per page?
Because no two pages are alike: a one-page certificate and a ten-page judgment, a common language and a rare one, do not require the same work. A firm price based on your document avoids unpleasant surprises.
Does the price include legalisation or the apostille?
If your translation is to be used abroad, we include it in the quote and handle the procedures with the FPS Foreign Affairs. For use in Belgium, the sworn translator’s electronic signature is usually enough.
Does the price depend on my commune?
No. The price depends on your document, the language and the deadline, not on the commune or the authority you submit the translation to.
Can I get a quote at the weekend?
Yes, we answer quote requests 7 days a week. Send your document via the form, by email or WhatsApp.
