Procedures that require translated articles of association
Branch or subsidiary in Belgium
A foreign company setting up in Belgium must submit its articles and deeds in the language of the procedure.
Subsidiary abroad
Your Belgian company sets up a structure in another country: articles and CBE extract translated and apostilled.
Banks and compliance
Account opening, know-your-customer checks: banks ask for the articles in a language they understand.
Notaries and capital transactions
Capital increase, transfer of shares, merger: deeds and minutes translated for the notary.
Public tenders
Some public contracts, in Belgium or abroad, require translated company documents.
Disputes and contracts
Articles and shareholder resolutions submitted in a legal or contractual file.
Using your company documents abroad
A notarial deed (articles of association, power of attorney, amendment of the articles) is apostilled at the notary’s request, directly with the FPS Foreign Affairs. An extract from the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises is signed and forwarded for legalisation by an approved business one-stop shop.
We then translate your documents into the language of the destination country and have the translation legalised if necessary.
Foreign articles of association for a procedure in Belgium
To open a branch, register a company with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises or sign a deed before a Belgian notary, foreign articles of association must usually be provided in the language of the procedure: French or Dutch in Brussels. A sworn translator translates them using Belgian company law terminology.
Your documents are handled in strict confidence; a non-disclosure agreement can be signed on request.

Frequently asked questions about articles of association translation
Do articles of association need a sworn translation?
For an official procedure (court registry, notary, authority, embassy), usually yes. For internal use, a professional non-sworn translation may be enough.
Do you also translate the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises extract?
Yes, as well as minutes of general meetings, powers of attorney and other company deeds.
Do my articles of association need an apostille?
For a country outside the European Union, often yes. For a Belgian notarial deed, the notary requests the apostille; we take care of legalising the translation.
Are my documents kept confidential?
Yes. Your documents are handled in strict confidence and a non-disclosure agreement can be signed on request.
How much does an articles of association translation cost?
